.0 Handy hint for cleaning your oven racks or griller trays.Soak them in hot water with a generous dose of Napisan. You will find the baked on grease will just wipe off with a cloth.

.0 When you are peeling onions don’t cry. Burn a couple of tealight candles close to your cutting area. These will burn off the onion fumes before they get to your eyes.

.0 To clean the glass front on your slow combustion stove, soak some newspaper in water and rub away the soot and burn marks. For persistant marks, lay the wet newspaper on the door to soak awhile.

.0 To remove scaling and lime from the inside of your kettle, just boil vinegar inside the kettle. Rinse thoroughly before reusing.

.0 Coffee machines can be badly stained with constant use. Clean all the areas that come into contact with the coffee with bicarb and vinegar. You should then rinse all the areas that come into contact with coffee with a salt and water solution. The areas that come into contact with milk need to be first rinsed with cold water then very hot water. Don’t use detergent because it can curdle the milk.

.0 If you have an odour in the fridge that you can’t get rid of, use a divided bowl. Bicarb in one side and vanilla essence in the other. This will remove most smells and deodorize the fridge.

.0 To remove beetroot stains from laminate. Apply glycerine to the stain with a cotton ball, leave for a few minutes then remove.
